Bruno's is flat out the best Italian food in town and fabulous wine selection. I have been coming to Bruno's for several years and have never been disappointed. About 14 of us took Mom there for her 70th birthday and everyone loved it. I have been to one wine tasting too and it was a great. One of the best pairings of food and wine I have seen. I'm looking forwards to the next one. Thank you Bruno's Joseph, Euclid
We have many rentals in the area and stopped by for lunch one day. We could not believe how good the food was. We have been coming back regularly ever since for lunch and dinner. It is a 30 minute drive for us, but well worth the drive. The service is always outstanding. Bruno is always very busy but always says hello. One time it was so busy on a Saturday night that after waiting about an hour, Bruno brought us into the back room and sat us there. It was our own private room with a fireplace. We loved it. I hope to be able to sit there again and love the food and service. Dean
Quite a few years ago, my colleague asked me if I wanted to join him and his wife for lunch. Of course, I said yes and nothing surprised me more than the beautiful oasis of Bruno's. I felt like I was in Italy on my lunch hour. Needless to say, I have invited everyone I know for lunch at Bruno's. Colleagues, family and business associates all agree that Bruno's is the best! The food is generous and delicious, the atmosphere is charming and the prices are reasonable. I was recently with a business associate and she agreed that it was a bit of heaven in the middle of the day. She loved her entree and was going to recommend Bruno's to her family members. Than you for being a cozy respite in the middle of a harried working day. Run, don't walk, to Bruno's for a taste of Italy. Marsha
We were first introduced to Bruno's by a neighbor a few years ago... Our first experience was fantastic... Such a charming restaurant and the food... hmmmmmm... Great! My husband and I have also been involved with a neighborhood Wine Tasting group... And our group has been to Bruno's for your outstanding Wine Tastings... Once again... The choice of menu for these events have been excellent. Appetizer, entree and dessert selections AND the choice of wines... Perfect choices!!! We have brought friends to Bruno's and they love it there. I have a dear friend that lives in Rome... I look forward to having she and her husband here to visit and will most definitely bring them to Bruno's... They'll feel like they are still in Italy! Only ONE complaint.. The food portions are huge!!! But... I always look forward to enjoying the "left overs" the next day... May I also mention the service and friendliness of your staff... They are delightful and make for a wonderful dining experience. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Irene, Westlake
Your ristorante is a boon to our neighborhood. It's reputation and staying power here have helped me direct folks to a "point of light" shining on the near west side. Though I've only eaten at the restaurant one time (not by choice), I've nonetheless had the privilege of dinging on your fine cuisine at different places (i.e., St Procop's dinners; Sokok Greater Cleveland Women's class reunions; fish frys at St John Bosco to mention a few). Each time I can say it was a grand meal. When I had to plan our Women's class get-together, the first place I thought of was Bruno's catering. Price was in line with our budget and afterwards, everyone came back to me to say (even weeks later) how much they enjoyed the meal and presentation. How it was done with glass and attention to each of them, as though they ere the only person being served. And that's how I've felt with each dining experience. Thank you for your "class" and looking forward to the next meal a la Bruno's. (and don't you dare stop smiling) Marjorie
| Our new friends invited us to join them at your restaurant. We had never been to Bruno's before & we love Italian food. | My wife and I are both from N.J. just outside of New Your City. The Italian restaurants in that area are outstanding. In the last 35 years that we have been married we have lived in Chicago, Houston, Boston, Philadelphia and for the last 9 years here in the Cleveland area. Of the cities we previously lived only Philadelphia came close to the quality of the Italian restaurants in N.J and N.Y. About 5 years ago we were introduced to Bruno's and now we can put Cleveland in the same category with NY and NJ and Philly. I personally enjoy the calamari, homemade bread, sauces and wine selection. It is sometimes tough to get a reservation on the weekend but is well worth the effort. Mike - Avon |
We first came to Bruno's with our group of 10 that we have dinner with once a month, with each couple taking turns picking a restaurant of their choice. Our friends chose Bruno's, we had never heard of it, and I don't understand why we hadn't Since then, I have brought my son Brian who went to school in NY City right across from Little Italy. We all were spoiled there by the true Italian food and atmosphere. When I took him to Bruno's he said it was just like being in Little Italy, NY. He loved the food as much as my husband and I. We returned again with both son's and enjoyed another fabulous meal. Everything we order is mouthwatering. My husband came back again with 7 business associates from out of town and everyone raved about the food! We are returning again with another couple on Saturday. We love turning people on to great restaurants in Cleveland. Let me tell you, all of these visits have been since the end of January and it is only March 5th. That is a record for us. We dine out a lot, but have never repeated the same restaurant so many times in such a short period of time. at Bruno's. We'll be coming back for a long time. Sue - Berea
I came to know Bruno's Restaurant in 1997 or 1998 after reading an article in the Plain Dealer. Having grown up in the West 41st Street area and attending the now demolished Thomas Jefferson Junior High School, I was intrigued that someone would actually open a restaurant in the area, I was further intrigued by the fact that the owner, Bruno, was the head chef for the Cleveland Browns before that scum bag, Art Modell, sold out the fine citizens of Cleveland and moved the team to Baltimore. Being a former long time resident of the area I was familiar with the neighborhood including Fridrich's Bicycle shop, The Hot Dog Inn, Johnny's Hot Dog and of course the West Side Market. I also spend to much time at the former Ohio City Tavern but that's another story. With overwhelming curiosity I scooped up a few co-workers and set my sights on lunch at Bruno's. As we exited I-90, my suburban co-workers kept asking "where are you taking us" I kept them in the dark until we pulled into the driveway of the car wash, I said "we are getting the car washed and checking out a new Italian Restaurant" One co-worker looked around nervously and asked if we were getting lunch "to go." We crossed the street and entered into the "perfect" Italian restaurant, friendly and cozy with the theme from The Godfather gently playing in the background. We were early and the first guests for lunch that day. The hostess quickly pulled two tables together to accommodate our group. Menu's were distributed while I casually gave everyone a brief history from the PD article. And then the most incredible thing happened, the bread and butter arrived. We placed our orders and anxiously awaited a second basket of bread. It arrived quickly along with a nice salad with fabulous Italian dressing. We devoured the second basket of bread just as the entree's arrived, Gnocchi for some, pizza and chicken parmigiana sandwiches for others. By this time the restaurant was filling up with police officers, hospital workers and a few business men. There was less than our usual lunch conversation as everyone was seriously focused on the food. After we cleaned our plates, Bruno stopped by and we introduced ourselves. It was then that we unanimously agreed that Bruno's would be a monthly even for lunch. Our little group stayed together for about four years and for the most part we kept our monthly routine, always with anticipation of the bread, butter, salad and what to try next. Over the years we were never disappointed and Bruno's became our favorite lunch event. A few years ago I started taking a very special lady to Bruno's for dinner on Friday nights, dining on the best Manicotti in town. We've also met some interesting people, Mario and Lou have been my favorites. We've joked and talked with the staff and I have fond memories of drinking punch, espresso and smoking with the staff after closing. I'm sorry to say that I have not been back for about a year, shame on me. I will see you soon. Bob - Lakewood
We tell EVERYONE that it is our favorite Italian Restaurant. I am Italian, so I consider myself a good judge of Italian food. Everything I try there is great. My husband, however, is in a rut that he doesn't want to get out of. He loves the calamari and even though he always says he is going to order something different, he always orders it. oh well, whatever makes him happy. We both love bringing people there who have never been to Bruno's before. They all love it, and we have returned with the same people numerous times. Great job you guys! Your servers are very friendly and efficient and we like the atmosphere of feeling like home.. Fran
Most of us appreciate good food, good service and a good value. Bruno's brings home the rare triple! I have my favorite three or four restaurants. But I have a special love affair with Bruno's Italian Restaurant. Since being introduced to the restaurant by a friend five years ago I have done the same favor for 30 people or more. High on life, I can't go a week without some great Italian food prepared home style with hands that treat you like you are part of the family. It is a little like going home to Mom's great cooking and knowing that your day's ambition if focused on making sure you eat well and you don't go home hungry. When great food is priority Bruno's is my home way from home! Chuck - Westlake
There are so many things on the menu that are so great. I love gnocchi and the portions are so ample that I had to take some home. A friend found my leftovers in the refrig, ate them, and wouldn't stop talking about going to Bruno's - I had to take him. Barb
I first went to your restaurant for a retirement gathering and I could honestly say that there was not one thing I could complain about or anything missing. It was truly wonderful food, staff and the atmosphere was excellent. I went back again thinking it could not be true, how good and positive my first experience was and once again it was a great experience. I tell all my friends about your restaurant and all have also enjoyed themselves. Thanks for the great experience and wonderful meal. EXCELLENT Laurie - Strongsville
| Bruno's restaurant is on of those hidden gems, that once found is never forgotten! It took us years to finally visit, the PD article on the refrigerator turning yellow. And finally, we came and have raved about the service and the food has been simply out of this world. Every chance we get, we bring friends and family. I do know that eventually I will beat Bruno with my "homemade" Limoncello. So hopefully, this time, i will be the winner and promise to bring my homemade for the ultimate taste off for staff & family. Again, thank you for making every visit & every meal plain wonderful! | Dear Bruno's I wanted to thank you for the wonderful food. I am Italian and was raised on all homemade Italian food. It is very hard for my friends to take me for Italian food anywhere. When a friend of mine went to your restaurant they told me I had to try the food. I took them on their advise and I am hooked for life. The food is very good, very fresh and made the true Italian way. I live in Avon and it is sure worth the drive. Donna - Avon |
Everyone here at Bruno's wants to thank everyone for such kind words!! It warms our hearts to read the stories above!! Thank you so much!!! Bruno's
I was at Bruno's last evening for the first time. As I sit here eating my leftovers for lunch (about which I fantasized all morning) I just HAD to write to say BRAVO! What a great meal! The service was perfect, the food was incredible! I can't wait to return to try something else from the extensive menu. I had the melanzane lasagna and it was SO delicious! Where else but in my own mama's kitchen could i get food this lovingly and delectably prepared? At Bruno's! A little hidden gem and worth seeking. Kathy
